Inspirational Talk – Monday Munch:28th May, 2012

Hello everyone, Today’s Monday Munch was quite interesting as we had one new speaker to have an inspirational talk. Keep wondering who that person was because it will be disclosed in coming lines.

Apart from this we had regular discussions on our weekly updates as part of our routine, each and every team member came and share their last week updates, learning’s and problems faced.

Coming to the main topic we had an Inspirational talk from one of our team member
Mr. Chintan Prajapati a PHP Developer. The main aim to have this talk was to motivate others the way he motivates himself. In a nutshell he explained everyone that he believes in Self Learning, he added that if anyone wants to learn a new language maximum it should be done in 15 days. If any individual is aware about functionality of codes it becomes easy to learn further.

His motto for life is never give up and should always have positive attitude towards learning new things. One should never feel shy in asking their seniors regarding things which you don’t know. Sometimes it also happens that even your juniors might help you in your problems so one should always be ready in taking knowledge in what so ever way you get whether you learn it yourself or from others.

Avinashi Day Celebration

21st May, 2003 a date which Avinashi will never forget – its Foundation Day .Its 2012 now and Avinashi celebrated its 9th Anniversary on 21st May, 2012. “Celebrations” as the word suggests it is something which is rejoicing and makes everyone happy. Every year we celebrate this day with great pomp and enthusiasm. This year we wanted to make it an unforgettable moment for everyone who has supported avinashi from leaps and bounds in its growth.

This year we had planned to celebrate this event for 3 days so that everyone can treasure this event forever. At the end it’s all about people who are working with us who helped us to sustain in this competitive market. Avinashi Culture rightly believes in making everyone happy whether they are clients, stakeholders or team members.

On 20th May, 2012 a day before Avinashi Day we planned a Movie Day for each and every team member so that they feel refreshed and recharged. As per everyone’s request we all went for a 3D movie Avengers at Cinepolis Surat. After this programme as boys at Avinashi are really fond of playing Counter Strike so on the same day we kept a Counter Strike Session for everyone and they enjoyed playing it till they had strength to play.

On Avinashi Day i.e. on 21st May, 2012 as per our philosophy every Monday we have a Monday Munch Programme we continued with the same where each and every team member shared their learning’s of last year. Also everyone was made aware about the new year focus, resolutions and long term vision of the organization. In the evening we had Cake Cutting Session where everyone relished the delicious cake on account of this celebration day. You can have a look at the photographs of this event.

On 22nd May, 2012 was a team picnic at Chab Chaba Chab Water Park at Hazira in Surat. This picnic was like a fun holiday for one day. To make it more adventurous everyone travelled on their own bikes and for girls a car was hired to reach at the destination. As soon as they reached a casual arrangement was made for breakfast. Everyone enjoyed eating surati food ie. TheplaBataka nu ShaakKhaman & Matho.

Finally, the time came for the event where all of us went into the water pools and water rides for almost 6 – 7 hours. We have captured some memorable moments of this event .

There we have a facility for Rain Dance Party also so we decided one common timings and all of us had a blast over there too. Finally, the day ended and everyone happily got departed at their respective places.

This was one of the most memorable and cherished celebration of Avinashi till date. We look forward for such celebrations in our future.

21st May, 2012 Special Day for Monday Munch

If you’re following this blog regularly you must be already knowing Monday Munch. This Monday Munch was really special for Avinashi as it was on Monday 21st May, 2012 and the same day we celebrated 9th Anniversary of Avinashi. Same way the topic discussed on that day was also exceptional. Monday Munch updates were not just focused on last week but the entire last year. Leaders also introduced new year agenda.

Beginning was done Wishing and Greeting everyone A very Happy Avinashi Day. Later, each and every team member came forth and discussed their work done, their performances, team member support, enhancement in their skills and learnings till today.

After all these discussions finally we moved towards new year focus & resolutions plannings related to our products, its marketing strategies etc. As we had special celebration at water park on next day, We planned the celebration and did arrangement for the event. Everyone was so excited as they’ve heard from seniors that they really enjoyed the event last year.

Avinashi at 9 years!

Time is running so fast! I can not believe that 9 years are already gone. Just few days ago, I heard from one smart guy that even if you don’t do something much bigger, survival is also a big achievement.

I still remember that we started Avinashi in one small office in Surat. It was about 125 square feet office and we were paying rent of Rs. 750 (US$ 18) per month. When we started, we were in to local business and mainly related to linux and Adobe Flash Platform. In a period of 9 years, we did almost everything that normal IT company does like Web Sites, Dynamic Web Sites, Web Applications, Rich Internet Applications and some other stuff like Video Streaming, Flash Media Server Programming. Luckily we got most of projects we worked on were products.

As a result of working on many products, Our culture became product centric and we were only accepting products not websites or normal stuff that other companies do. As of today, now we are only doing service business required to fund our product development. Also during this time, we built a great culture, best practices which is dream of any company.

At this time we would like to thank all of our respected clients and our team members who supported Avinashi and made it possible to see this day! Looking forward to do more adventures in IT products!

Redefining freedom and innovation in work culture : Avinashi’s Monday Munch

What is Monday Munch?

Maintaining a culture in an organization is a tough challenge especially because the bases of a culture always need to be strong and core. Secondly, a business hub like Surat where Textile and Diamond Industries are dominating all other industries it’s a challenge for an IT company to make its place in the city. Avinashi’s strength lies in the following 5 pillars through which we develop and maintain our culture i.e. Quality, Innovation, Knowledge, Leadership and Teamwork. We believe in nurturing of our team members so that they feel proud working at Avinashi.

Aligning personal goals with organizational goals in return will help us to make a better team. In order to maintain the strength of the pillars and such core values we need continuous and regular efforts that need to take place daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. A weekly system works best for us as each and every individual can monitor and align their personal growth.

The first step towards such a process which we have inculcated in Avinashi is Monday Munch Programme. Monday Munch, as its name suggests is conducted every Monday where Avinashi with its entire team gets together and discusses about the Product(s)/Project(s) Details. Also leaders briefs everyone about their previous week’s updates, their learnings and also their goals

This refreshing and recharging event is conducted for almost 2-3 hours and we always try and gain 100% attendance and for those who have missed to attend Monday Munch can refer the recording of this event later for their reference

Why Monday Munch?

“Sharing is joy” and that is what we believe in too. During Monday Munch, we give an opportunity to each and every team member to come forth and share their weekly tasks and update the other team mates about their work. They share their learning’s which can be technical, behavioral or any other topics which they felt as their learning’s and can help others in their career or life.

As everytime we give chance to different team members to come and share their topics this technique has inspired all other team member which has created a good competitive environment at Avinashi. We hope that this continuous effort will help everybody in their professional as well as personal life. Apart from these regular discussions of tasks and plans, we also discuss some motivational videos, stories etc which we think would help Avinashi and its team towards managing themselves better.

Regardless of our busy schedule and tight project deadlines, we have never missed to conduct Monday Munch as it helps knit togetherness and team spirit. We strongly believe that Avinashi & Monday Munch should go hand in hand and hence we hope and will try our best for a lifetime existence of Monday Munch.
